Mission description

Inetum-Realdomen is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance Consultant to join their teams. The person will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management, quality, and security of the customers data assets. The Data Governance consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and implement robust data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Data Governance Framework

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Establish policies, standards, and procedures to govern the collection, storage, usage, and sharing of data.
  • Provide guidance in the design of these policies, standards and procedures and quantifying them by defining KPIs to measure the success of data governance initiatives, identify areas of improvement and ensuring accountability.

Data Quality Management

  • Design and implement data quality standards and processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of organizational data.
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business units to define and enforce data quality metrics.
  • Deepen the existing framework on the process of moving from a data quality need to a data quality metric.

Metadata Management

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories to facilitate understanding and lineage of data across the organization.
  • Define and implement metadata standards to improve data discoverability and transparency.

Data Classification and Security

  • Develop and implement data classification schemes to identify and protect sensitive information.
  • Develop goals on data categorisation and integrity & availability.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure the enforcement of data security measures and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Data Stewardship

  • Work closely with data stewards to assign ownership and accountability for data assets.
  • Provide guidance and support to data stewards in their role of maintaining data quality and integrity.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  • Stay current with data protection laws and regulations and ensure the organization's data governance practices comply with these standards.
  • Establish and maintain processes for auditing and reporting on data governance compliance.

Data Lifecycle Management

  • Define and implement policies for the lifecycle management of data, including data retention, archiving, and disposal.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data usage patterns and optimize data storage and access.

Profile description

YOUR PROFILE

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, metadata management, and data classification.
  • Knowledge of relevant data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies i.e., at least 1 year experience of Pureview and/or Collibra in production environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferable experience within DAMA (DMBOK).
  • You communicate clearly in Dutch and/or French and English (both written and spoken).
